Fun read!
Loved this book, I only recently stumbled onto this author, & now I find myself so excited to keep reading every single book ever written by her. I can only assume her unique gift of these fun, thoughtful stories a gift from God for a simple person like me. Going through such a hard season in life right now, & these books have been a beautiful escape from my reality. Thank you! One of the best books I’ve read in quite a while. 🙏🫶🏼🩷

Rachel writes authentic characters who engage your emotions and draw you into their lives. I was totally invested in this story full of inspiration.
This book is one of my favorite historical fiction novels. It has threads of faith, friendship, and love woven throughout the story of Hazel, a young woman who’s falsely charged and sent to prison.
After five years she’s free and finds a job as a lady in attendance for Gilbert Watts, a dentist who is a man of few words and lives a solitary life. I love how he moves from quiet to confident as the story progresses. He’s kind, good looking, but there’s much more under the surface.
Hazel has grown through her trials but struggles to forgive herself for being the selfish girl she once was. She’s not sure she’s deserving of her new friends’ loyalty or Gilbert’s interest.
Will Hazel be able to forgive herself for her past choices and embrace her new life?
