Lady of Desire
Miss Margery Derrington and her dear aunts are in dire straits. Their discovery of a rare manuscript will hopefully stave off their creditors—if it’s worth what they hope. Margery reluctantly allies with a charming scholar to use the book to pursue a treasure that could solve their woes. Only, the irresistible desire she feels toward her partner is neither expected nor wanted.
Rhys Bowen can’t believe he has his hands on the elusive de Valery text. Solving its hidden code and unearthing its legendary treasure would establish him as one of Britain’s leading antiquaries, finally casting him out of his brilliant late father’s shadow. But when a centuries-old organization convinces Rhys of the perils of disturbing the past, he must choose between his conscience…and the captivating woman he’s sworn to help.
Lady of Desire - Good
Sometimes being persistent can pay off, for myself as well as for the characters of Margery and Rhys!
I had trouble getting into this book but I’m glad I stayed with it since it turned into a very good story. My persistent paid off.
For Margery, her persistence lead to Rhys and the greatest adventure of her life! There were twists and turns, steamy scenes and a very well written HEA ending. I’d recommend this book.
I read this story as part of an anthology called “Vote Then Read”
Lady of Desire by Darcy Burke. (Legendary Rogues)
This is another wonderfully intriguing tale by Darcy Bourke! If you adore sexy historical romances, action-packed mysteries oozing with emotion, you will devour the story of Margery & Rhys who meet when she consults with him, as a successful antiquarian, about her lovable aunts’ medieval book❣️. What happens between Margery & Rhys as they investigate & are attacked by obsessed, dangerous men is an adventure for the reader as well. Loved this book & gave it a well deserved 5 stars! Ms Burke never disappoints❣️👏👏. Get your copy & start reading today‼️👍.
Lots of great action
I enjoyed their exciting adventure looking for treasure and finding it in the bedroom.
I like that things didn’t immediately fall into place for them romantically and that they evolved into their eventual relationship.
Gah! Just when you think you know who the bad guy is!!
