Lance: A Hathaway House Heartwarming Romance book 12.
Welcome to Hathaway House. Rehab Center. Safe Haven. Second chance at life and love.
Lance Mayfair sought out Hathaway House at the recommendation of a friend, who told him it was an answer to prayer. Lance knows more about prayers than answers, but, if he can see progress in one particular area of his life and health, it will be worth the effort and the pain. He’ll do anything he can to play music again. It’s all he has left now that his days as a Navy SEAL are over and, with them, any chance of a happy, productive life.
However, the shoulder injury that ended his career pretty much guarantees he’ll never play his beloved instruments ever again.
Unless Hathaway House and Jessica can work a miracle.
Jessica has worked with many patients at Hathaway House, but she connects with Lance in a way she didn’t with any of the others. She can see the need inside him—his desire to create again, to heal through music. And his goal becomes her goal: to see him play music in his soul again.
Only his music isn’t all he wants or needs, and making him happy goes a long way to making her happy, but it’s not enough. Both want and need so much more.
I loved how Lance made his way back to getting better by using his musical talents. I want to gush but don’t want to give anything away I highly recommend this book

This is a wonderful addition to this charming series about our wounded warriors. I so enjoyed this story that I hated to see it end but it ended on a great note. Looking forward to the next one!!!!
Lance comes to Hathaway House to recover from his life-changing injuries that he sustained in the war. There he meets Jessica, a nurse fairly new to Hathaway House. These two grow close as Lance recovers. Jessica tries to steer Lance back to his love of music when she hears how much he loves it.
This was a heart-lifting story that took me on a great bookcation from everyday life. I thoroughly enjoyed having this in my favorite dual POV format. It really helps me to identify and understand the character better to see their thoughts while in a given situation.
This is a clean romance that really anyone would enjoy. Also while this story is a part of a series, this can be read as a stand-alone.
A Step at a Time
Hathaway House, a house for healing for vets. Each book is a standalone but is so much more fun when read in order. This is Lance's story and, yes, Jessica's. This is a story about possibles and not giving up, to learning to accept help and to give help, to taking steps and finding balance. It is a beautiful story (and each book in this series is so very heartwarming). Bravo!!!
