Sal Bello doesn’t know how to be around people - he’s spent his life being a soldier and that’s all he wants to do. He’s never been in love and he doesn’t understand what it does to the men around him, struggling to hold their marriages together. For Sal, the rules are a comfort, a way to live life without the messiness of emotions that tend to get out of control.

Forged in Fire.....
Captain Sal Bello, commander of Diablo Company was having a bad day, actually a lot of bad days. He was tired of meaningless meetings, red tape and dealing with troublemakers. He was a warrior, he wanted to train his men for important things ......like war. His First Sergeant Delgado was starting to get on his nerves, almost undermining him on occasion. Plus, a Senior First Sergeant name Holly Washington was new at Ft. Hood and confusing him. She was brash, independent and sarcastic and he was very attracted to her.
Holly Washington loves being a soldier. Despite surviving a personal tragedy, and a hit to her career she has carried on. Capt. Bello was big, hard and very attractive, not to mention a little surly. He made her feel things she hadn't felt, or wanted to feel for a long time. After rescuing her a couple times from a fist in the face, he wondered what her agenda was. She went into confrontations full force and refused to back off because she was female. Their dealing with two sets of issues, readying the men for deployment and trying to deal with the issues of the men who have returned home.
This is the third book in Ms. Scott's Homefront Series. It is equally eye-opening and compelling as the first two. If you enjoy reading military suspense with some hot romance I recommend these books very highly.
I received this book from the publisher for an honest review.
This is a wonderful book. The characters are real and make you care for them. It is nice to see some characters from previous books. However, this can definitely be read as a stand alone book.
What a FANTASTIC read!!
You will fall in Love with Holly & Sal. In fact you will love the whole series. It seems to be a continuation from the Coming Home series but all the books can be read as stand alone books. But take my advice and read both the Coming Home and the Homefront series. You won't be disappointed. It's one of my all-time top ten series reads. This author tells it like it is and makes it all to real. You won't be able to put this book down. I was given this book for an honest review.!
