Very Good for Beginners
I am not a beginner in German, so this was little help to me, however, upon giving it to my sister, she was able to learn some quick German really quickly and while this book in no way could teach a German course --it leaves out many important things that I think should have been in there-- it was a good way to help break the ice for her and I think that's what the purpose of the book is.
Two things I did notice were
1) a few of the phrases gave me Spanish phrases instead of the German phrases
2) the audio voice pronounces the umlauts letters quite oddly. I have 4 close German friends and when I showed them it, they were very confused by the umlauts pronunciations.
other than that, this book is a great ice-breaker into German for beginners! Nice job!
Pretty Useless
I took four years of german in high school. This book has so many words you will never need to know and excludes so may useful words. When will I actually need the german word for taste bud? Why do I need so many examples of how each word can be used? No one would even be able to make sense of the example sentences if they did not already speak german, and the book has no grammar at all! DO NOT GET THIS BOOK! It was a waste of the minute it took to download and I am definitely deleting it!
I like this book. Useful to me.
I like this book. It helps being able to hear, then practice a word. This book might not be good for others, but I know only one word. Nein. No.
