This book contains images that are a sort of socio-economical peek into life in Nova Scotia. There are so many things that people leave behind when they move on to a new place or thing. They leave their vehicles in the yard to rust when they get a new one, either because they can't afford to have it removed or they just simply believe they will fix it one day. They have sheds that fall down before they will or can do something about them. Rather than repair something or tear it down, it goes to waste and just becomes a mess that no one wants to deal with anymore. People can't afford the heat or power or even the mortgage/rent to live in a house so they pack up and move to where they can afford to live so that house just becomes run down with disrepair and eventually falls to the ground, where, again no one wants to clean up the mess or deal with it. Mostly though, it's not a lack of caring or wanting to fix things or get rid them; it more because they simply can't afford to do anything about it.

Out of respect for privacy, there will be no locations under pictures. The pictures will speak for themselves about an economy that is not working for a lot of Nova Scotian families. You don't have to leave the town to see these images in most cases, they are next door to some of the most attractive homes is the area. They are everywhere but most people don't even notice or, worse, they choose to ignore a problem that is only getting worse.
