Leonardo Fibonacci

Leonardo Pisano is better known by his nickname Fibonacci. He was an Italian Mathematician born in 1170 AD; in Pisa. He was probably the most outstanding mathematician of the middle ages. He was educated in North Africa; where his father held a diplomatic post. Fibonacci was taught mathematics in Bugia and travelled widely with his father and recognised the enormous advantages of the mathematical systems used in the countries they visited.
