After waiting a year I read this book again and it’s just as wonderful the second time around. The first few pages grab you and make it hard to put it down. I’ll admit I could have done without some of the more graphic sex scenes but Gedeon and Meiling story was a page turner. It would be nice to see some of their enhanced abilities in future books.

I’ve been disappointed for quite some time in the books of this series with one after another seem to be some version of the exact same story, and all lacking. The story was a welcome flashback to the original Christine who started the series, there was clearly creativity and intent in this book and his refreshed my interest in the series.
