Publisher Description
This K-9 team is trained to eliminate threats. This threat could eliminate them.
Being a loner is getting old. Jazz Lamont still can't fit in at the Phoenix K-9 Agency, and she's losing her best friend. At least providing security with her K-9 partner at the Tri-City Fair will mean revisiting the only place where she once belonged. But a series of accidents threatens her beloved fair and puts lives at risk.
Thriller author Hawthorne Emerson suspects foul play after the first "accident." Moonlighting as fair security to investigate the death of his sister's boyfriend, he's eager to find the truth. He doesn't expect the task to lead him to the cult he escaped.
Finding the culprit behind the sabotage is personal for Jazz and Hawthorne. But someone else has a personal stake, too. Someone who wants Jazz dead. When everything she thought was true is dismantled, can Jazz risk trusting others—including God—to survive?
Lethal Danger continues the thrilling story of the elite Phoenix K-9 Security and Detection Agency that began with Hidden Danger (Guardians Unleashed, #1). (Each book can stand alone or be read as series installments.)

Age Does it Again
Jerusha Agen has done it again with book 4 in the Guardians Unleashed series. Lethal Danger is filled with non-stop action and suspense, wonderful friendships, canine companions, and sweet romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery storyline of this novel. It was a true whodunit and I was completely stumped.
One of my favorite aspects of this series is the Phoenix K-9 Agency. Each dog that appears with his human partner is given a personality and prominent role in the story. I like that the dogs are more than just accessories, but integral parts of the unraveling of the puzzle.
Jazz and Hawthorne are fantastic main characters. Each of them has a backstory which leads to difficulties in their developing relationship. I loved that Agen made her lead male character an author.
Agen does not shy away from the faith theme in her books. In this story the two main characters are attracted to each other, but one of them does not share the other’s faith. The internal struggle that both face with this issue is realistic.
I anxiously await the next book in the series.
I was given a copy of this book by the author. I was not required to provide a positive review. All opinions given are my own.
Curiosity killed the writer!
Evil and lies are often most convincing when they masquerade as poor imitations of the truth.
Enter the world of Phoenix K-9 Security and the Tri-City Fair. The author takes us behind the scenes at the fair with such great detail I wonder if I can ever visit a fair again without wondering what goes on behind those barriers. Add to that the well developed characters and you will not set this aside before finishing.
For Jazz, with her K-9 Flash, this is a pinch me sort of dream. Working security at the fair alongside her favorite author is not something Jazz could have possibly imagined. Hawthorne Emerson is a mystery writer doing research into the world of the fair. Meeting his next heroine was not part of his plan, especially when there seems to be ongoing threats to her life.
Are these all accidents or are there questionable entities behind these incidents? For Jazz, it seems that since no one cares about her, none of this matters as long as no one else gets hurt. Will she finally understand that she has always belonged to God and that He loves and cares for her?
An early copy of Guardians Unleashed Book 4 was received through SDG Words, LLC. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.
