Lethal Loyalty

She has loved him for thirty years. Now he needs one small favor.

In drought-stricken Durango, Colorado, Olivia Hahn is running out of time for the life she wanted: James, a family, the baby she keeps putting off. So when James asks her for access to the city's banking portal, for the water pipeline project he's working on with the magnetic Kate Nichols, Olivia tells herself it's for the town. For them.

Then Kate hands her a pair of leather gloves.

Valerie Roberts used to be Olivia's closest friend. Now she's married to a man whose drinking has turned to rage, and she's passing secrets to a reporter in the back corners of the Jug. The photo on her phone could bring everything down. Kate knows about it.

And Dominique Shale, Durango's new city attorney, is about to learn how far loyalty bends before it breaks.

Four women. One favor. No clean hands.

A short domestic thriller you can finish in one sitting, and your first look at Kate Nichols, the woman at the dark heart of Play Me Once. Meet her before the rest of the series has to.

From former psychiatrist M.M. Desch, who knows exactly how manipulation works.

Some favors can't be returned.
