Publisher Description
Like the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius, Seneca’s Letters are a treasure of practical wisdom on how to live and enjoy life. The focus is on living a simple, stress-free life thorough the use of rationalism. The letters provide practical steps for people to deal with the human suffering that comes with life’s problems. Topics featured range from discussions on the shortness of life and anger to immortality and death. The Letters are part of the foundation of Stoic thought making Seneca one of the indispensable thinkers from Ancient Roman philosophy. Although Stoicism is not now as widely practiced as it once was, many people can still find wisdom and inspiration through Seneca's words and letters.
“In the last three years, I’ve begun to explore one philosophical system in particular: Stoicism. Through my preferred Stoic writer, Lucius Seneca, I’ve found it to be a simple and immensely practical set of rules for better results with less effort.”
Timothy Ferriss, author of Four Hour Workweek.

Incredible..
Every time I come back to read senecas letters it just blows my mind. This is not something you’ll finish in one go and honesty you’d have to come back to it from time to time with a fresh mind to fully absorb the wisdom. The Bible is #1 for me and this is #2. Letters #20 on practicing what you preach letter #83 on drunkenness and many many more letters have helped me gather myself during difficult times, have hardened my mind for jiujitsu, firmly understand and practice daily to limit my desires and live according to nature. Of course I am still a work in progress which is why I always return to the Bible and this.

Incredible read
A+
I got this book after hearing people rave about the Stoic philosophy. Seneca's letters are witty and entertaining while also subtly outlining how to put the Stoic ideas into practical use. This is a book that I will keep forever. One of the best books I have read in ages.
