Entertaining and extremely useful to an indie dev
I read the first edition years ago. It was a lot more fun to read than most dry game design texts. I read it in just a couple sittings because I didn't want to stop. I've read quite a few game design books and this is by far one of the very best.
Every base is covered in this book. You will learn to think about things that hadn't occurred to you before, no matter how much you already think you know about games.
I refer to this book all the time in my game projects. If you're an indie game developer or are interested in becoming a game designer, read this book.
