Lies We Keep

A great story with unique characters, a plot that was suspenseful, while delivering a delightful sexy romance. A new to me author that will definitely be added to my one click buys.

Let’s start with the price. I was expecting a better book, I was slightly skeptical even after the sample. Here’s why: her name is Jezebel, and it’s fitting. There is no character development no stimulating conversations or real connection among them, outside of lust. James literally crossed the line before he’s even technically hired. Now for a man who joined the marines, special forces team... he doesn’t have much restraint. I found Jez to be annoying and childish the entire time. She stomps off after James rejected her when they ran into each other(before he was officially hired )Like what? You just met this man and now your upset he doesn’t want to sleep with you. She stomps always a slams doors throughout the book. She can’t be an adult woman. She throws herself at him, gets drunk a few times. She’s all around sloppy and embarrassing. She is supposed to be a writer but we don’t really develop that or see her day to day. She doesn’t write a single thing. The entire story has one event at a hotel that’s supposed to be the climax. She runs into her stalker who happens to be a “reporter” but saw that a mile away because this was the only interaction she had with anyone outside of her bf the entire book. The story jumps from on thing to the next without proper flow or reason. This “book” is over priced and not complete. This should be free or perhaps taken down to be further developed. This is a high school essay not a book so I’m not sure where all these great reviews come from. Also another annoying thing is the book is entirely in her point of view until the very end so that was painful since she’s not that mature. Pass on the essay and the author all together. She’s overcharging and not putting out quality or finished books.
