One lie. One crazy, dark, dirty lie turned my world upside down. It dug its claws into my life, altered my future, and clouded my past.

I thought I was over him. The one who lied. I thought I’d moved on with a successful career, a fat bank account, and a sexy boyfriend.

All that changes when Owen Henry walks back into my life. He’s out on parole, standing on my front porch, looking sexier than ever. I want to hate him for what he’s done, but all I can do is think about how great his lips felt on mine the last time we kissed.

I’m so screwed.

Lies we tell

4 1/2 Stars

I really loved Stella’s strong personality and grit in this romantic and painful second chance romance.
Eighteen long years have passed since the tragic events that stoke Stella’s future with Owen.
When they met again while Stella was trying to renovate her previous foster home, it started a series of events that brought their shared past into the present day.
Very well written with an even and moderate pace that was filled with intense emotional drama.
I liked the way the author tied the loose bits and pieces up in a realistic way. The underlying message of sacrificial love was shown in the strong way Owen was able to love Stella even though they weren’t together.
A worthwhile read!

Wonderful second chance romance!

Stella and Owen’s love story is a wonderful second chance romance... Through flashbacks, we get the beautiful glimpses and butterflies of first love, too. A twist of fate has brought these lovers back together years after Owen has been in prison for his brother’s murder. There is way more to this story than meets the eye, and this couple is going to have to fight tooth and nail to get through the lies to find the good stuff again.
