Excellent account of the critical paradigm ‘moments’ of evolution of life

Engagingly written, not shy about diving into technical detail, and ultimately making a compelling case for each of the inventions that led to all life we see (and don’t see) around us.

Occasional unnecessary interjections of unrelated dogma and political matters distract, but only briefly. Overall a fascinating and enjoyable book crammed with revealing knowledge on the subject.
