Life of a Klansman: A Family History in White Supremacy is written by American author, Edward Ball. The book is his family’s historical memoir where he describes the story of his great-great-grandfather (his grandmother’s grandfather), who had joined the Ku Klux Klan and carried out terrorist attacks in a bid to protect Louisiana’s white heritage. The Ball family had been always proud of their Klansman legacy until recently. Ball decided it was time to speak out about it and researched for the book for which he had to go against most of his family. 

Life of a Klansman was released on August 4, 2020 by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux. The book received good ratings from both critics and readers and made it to the New York Times Bestseller list. It was also mentioned in the best books to read in the August lists of both The Washington Post and Kirkus Reviews.
