Life Through the Eyes of a Rarámuri

The thoughts in this book are expressed as the Rarámuri would express them, either among themselves or as they talk with me. For centuries the majority of the Rarámuri’s dealings and experiences with non-indigenous people have been negative. Their philosophy of life in respect to the White Man has evolved from their unique history and background.

I don’t want to modify their concepts nor in any way censure them, simply to avoid offending some who might feel included in the generalisations the Rarámuri make about the White Man. My aim is to transmit the authentic message just as they themselves tell it to me.
