Praise for Life Without Lack:

"Dallas Willard helps us to understand that the Twenty-Third Psalm is not meant as a nice sentiment or for kitschy decor, it is for the very thick of our lives, the very moment of crisis. Imagine what our personal lives, families, communities, and politics would look like if we rejected the frantic striving of our day, and instead embraced the life without lack offered to us in Jesus Christ. No one has helped me to imagine and enter into that life more than Dallas Willard. I recommend this book with great joy and hopeful expectation."

Another Dallas Willard gem

This book is so full of positive wisdom on how to grow closer to God and become a better person. It is a bit shorter than many of Dallas Willard’s previous books — the book’s preface explains that it was taken from a Sunday School course he taught on applying Psalm 23 in our lives.

In short, Dallas Willard explains, Psalm 23 teaches us that the foundation of a life of joyful, peaceful abundance is: selflessness (death to self), faith/trust in God and agape love of those around us (a love that centers on desiring the best for others rather than loving others based on what they do for us).

As I read the book, I started practicing some of the lessons and disciplines he suggests — even the ones that sounded a little corny while I was reading them. I was amazed to discover the great truths of these lessons. My outlook on life changed to one of greater selflessness and peace. This book really has made a huge impact on my mindset and on my relationship with God and with those around me.
