Brandon Spencer Christensen ,

The best and only fiction novel with a young bipolar protagonist

Light Fixtures is a moving young adult novel that takes you into the life of young Aurora, a girl growing up in the northwest Louisiana countryside during the summer of 1963. I started reading Light Fixtures a few weeks ago and haven't been able to put the book down since. The novel is the first of its kind, a fictional story that tackles bipolar disorder and what it means for a young teenage girl as she learns about the world around her. The story combines YA fiction with mystical-adventure elements, making the book an especially fascinating story. If you're a fan of other popular YA books like the Twilight series, Harry Potter, or The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, you will thoroughly enjoy the twist that Light Fixtures brings to the genre. You are introduced to a cast of unique characters in the book, including Aurora, the witty, independent young protagonist, Mr. Dragonfly, her mystical flying guide, and Mr. Hematite, a mysterious figure that lives in the woods behind Aurora's house. The characters are real and well developed. You will be longing for more. Great read!
