Publisher Description
Seven years ago, Moriyah was taken captive in Jericho and branded with the mark of the Canaanite gods. Now the Israelites are experiencing peace in their new land, but Moriyah has yet to find her own peace. Because of the shameful mark on her face, she hides behind her veil at all times and the disdain of the townspeople keeps her from socializing. And marriage prospects were out of the question . . . until now.
Her father has found someone to marry her, and she hopes to use her love of cooking to impress the man and his motherless sons. But when things go horribly wrong, Moriyah is forced to flee. Seeking safety at one of the newly-established Levitical cities of refuge, she is wildly unprepared for the dangers she will face, and the enemies--and unexpected allies--she will encounter on her way.

Favorite author, favorite series
Every book by Connilyn is a binge-read for me. They immerse me in Old Testament times & give me a greater understanding when I go back & read scripture.
Too often we view God as different in the OT, more wrathful & no Grace. Being able to better understand the culture, meaning, & relevance of the time it was written in brings so much more clarity to Scripture - God’s Grace & love are EVIDENT in OT & NT. Connilyn does her homework & helps shed light on God’s unchanging character.
Her characters feel like they could have truly been interwoven into the timelines and stories found within Scripture, yet she makes them relatable.
Currently waiting on her next book to come out - think I will reread this series as I wait 😊
Incredible story
This was so well written! It captured me from beginning to end.
Yes! Read it!
Loved this book! Romance + action + real life struggles + God’s grace. Not too sappy. Great read!
