Raegan Palmer has a fulfilling life in New York City. She lives in a great Manhattan apartment in the same building as her best friend, Annie, and she’s working her way up the ladder in the world of fabric design. Suddenly, she finds out that she’s won some sort of contest at work and is to receive a weeklong, all-expenses-paid trip to a deluxe Montana ski lodge. The only problem is that she doesn’t remember hearing anything about a contest, and she doesn’t ski! But it’s a paid vacation, so why not? Shortly after her arrival at The Blue Spruce Lodge, she hears a deep voice behind her and immediately recognizes it from her past. In a panic, she tells herself to book a plane back to New York and get out of there before he sees her. However, she soon finds out that he owns the ski lodge and is the one behind this whole mystery vacation in the first place. How did he find her? What does he want? Her head is telling her to get out of there—now!—but her heart seems to have other plans. Which one will win out—her head or her heart?
