LITHOGRAPHY


Poen de Wijs (1948) is a famous Dutch contemporary painter of realism. After a lifetime of painting, and over 40 years of giving painting lessons, he summarizes his experiences and transmits them for future generations. 

Lithography, the word says it all, belongs to the process of printing, such as linocut and etchings. Lithography is one of the most beautiful techniques in which handwork and craftsmanship play a prime role. Poen de Wijs worked together with the Master printer Ernst Hanke from Switzerland. Their experience in co-operation is summarized in this Multimedia book. With text, photo galleries and videoclips (made in the Dutch Museum of Lithography) they demonstrate their skills.
