Soon they are planting and plowing, hunting wild ducks and turkeys, and gathering grass for their cows. Just when they begin to feel settled, they are caught in the middle of a dangerous conflict.
The nine Little House books are inspired by Laura's own childhood and have been cherished by generations of readers as both a unique glimpse into America's frontier history and as heartwarming, unforgettable stories.

Touching and informative
It was the next best thing to being there, reading Mrs. Wilding’s picturesque story of pioneer life along wagon trails & homesteading. Gifted writer, she was. I ended up both in admiration of these plucky families, and also very appreciative of both the accurate TV series & our modern standard of living!
A childhood favorite
I remember reading this book as a little girl and I am surprised at the reading level I was at to be able to understand what was going on in the book. The writing is very well done and the imagery is so nostalgic and good. I will forever love this book.
Nostalgia
I remember reading this full series growing up as a kid! I can not wait for my little girl to start reading these classics as well .
