Classic Burroughs

Edgar Rice Burroughs is an awesome story teller who's work is timeless. From a technical point of view, his body of work doesn't stand out, he found a formula that sold books and never really deviated from the formula, but his story telling and imagination make up for it! The other main criticisms I have of his work is the over reliance on coincidence and his swashbuckle heroes and 1 dimensional female characters with a couple of exceptions. But I would still rate him very high in the early sci-fi and fantasy genres.
