Publisher Description
Assassin Katla reinvents a forensic landmark while creating a Locked Room mystery...
The Locked Room KillFile (7,600 words) follows assassin Katla Sieltjes as she creates a Locked Room Murder Mystery, while exacting revenge on a physician responsible for the death of her client's wife. By using a method that has become a forensic landmark, she recreates an updated version of a lethal puzzle that astounded forensic scientists since the original murders occurred at the start of the twentieth century. But first she has to get in and out of her target’s highly secured apartment unseen.
The Katla KillFile short stories chronologically precede the novels in the Amsterdam Assassin Series. Each KillFile features Katla Sieltjes, expert in disguising homicide, executing one of her contracts. While not mandatory reading, each KillFile provides insight both in Katla’s work methods and skill, and additional background information in her character and personal history. The KillFiles can be read out of order, as the contracts are random samples from her past.

Excellent
The author puts a great deal of himself into these books. You really feel like you are in Amsterdam when you read his books. It really makes me appreciate the level of research he puts into them. Besides that he has created main character which is somehow a moral and also Likable. I am sorry Mr. Halm, but I must make the comparison: The books feel very much like the Dragon tattoo series. I mean this in a complement in that they completely bring me to the location and hold me there. These are the books I read where I need to skip out of my daily life for 15 or 20 minutes, and it usually turns into an hour.
