Loki's Children

Sam and Nick live in Bozeman, Montana. It’s their senior year in high school, they are applying to Colleges, playing football, and having a need to discover what sex is all about. These guys believe they are normal, boring, guys, who embarrass themselves. What if it turned out that their parents were really not normal, in fact, the stuff of myth?  At the moment, these parents are successfully pretending to be college professors, but their pasts are about to catch up with them.  

The action starts when Sam and Nick celebrate Nick’s birthday. They find a hidden hot springs, and on a partially submerged ledge, they find eight strange geodes.   These geodes are something their parents have been searching for - for eons. 

Bozeman, Montana seems to be a sleepy little college town, a gateway to Yellowstone National Park, as well as the theoretical site for First Contact with the Vulcans (2058 AD), and finally a Geological Horror waiting to happen.  Bozeman sits upon a large magma bubble just a few miles below the surface of the earth. When the first bubble burst ,70 million years ago, it created a Nuclear winter that killed off most organisms over twenty kilos.  That magma plume is ready to burst again - any day now.  Not a place you might wish to grow up in, if you watched too many disaster movies.
