Lonaconing Silk Mill: Portrait of Place

Lonaconing silk mill in Western Maryland is the last remaining mill of its kind in the USA. The photographs in this book illustrate the mill as it was left on the day it closed in the 1950s and includes not only the machinery but also the personal possessions left behind by the workers when the mill doors were sealed closed.
