Look Closer. Rachel Amphlett
Revenge is a powerful motivator for Will Fletcher and his sister Amy. Their father murdered by Irish mobsters when they were both small children. The two primary leaders of the Irish mobsters later start to accumulate wealth in the construction business and other shady outlets. They move to England and change their names. One of them now going by the name of Rossister is running for prime minister and is favored to win. Will’s sister is setup and murdered by one of his henchmen. Now they are after Will. Non stop action and suspense on every page. Enjoyed immensely!! My highest recommendation!!
Look Closer
Yet another great book by Rachel Amphlett. What would you do in Will Fletcher’s place. Amy is gravely injured by gun shot from gangsters. She was doing her job as a newspaper reporter. What did she do to deserve being shot. Lots of suspense and twists and turns. Who can Will trust?
A good read with an unexpected twist
Well-written with good descriptive language that doesn't go overboard or become long-winded, thereby slowing down the plot progression. The twist at the end was unexpected and I usually see them coming. It could have been improved with a bit more in depth portrait or incorporation of the historical context of the British / Northern Ireland peace process or British political procedure. Overall an entertaining read at a good price - but short of greatness.
