LOONGYAN: Book One—Winds over the Imperial Academy

He came to the Imperial Academy seeking knowledge. What he discovers could cost him his future—and shake an empire.

A blacksmith’s son with a flame-shaped birthmark beneath his right eye, Yan Xin enters the empire’s greatest academy hoping to find his place. Among noble heirs, brilliant scholars, and masters of hidden arts, learning promises a future beyond the forge.

But here, knowledge is also a weapon in the hands of the powerful.

Ancient teachings reveal mysteries of life and death. Dreams draw Yan Xin toward a forgotten past. As rival lords gather power, their struggles reach into the Academy’s classrooms and courtyards—and his own origins begin to surface among secrets the dynasty would rather keep buried.

Beside a spirited noble heir and an enigmatic fellow student, Yan Xin discovers friendship, awakening love, and the courage to question the world he has inherited. When his friends’ lives hang in the balance, he must decide what he is willing to risk for what is right.

The flame bound to his origins may illuminate the way—or consume everything he holds dear.

LOONGYAN: Book One — Winds over the Imperial Academy opens an epic fantasy rooted in Chinese myth and philosophy, where the hardest lesson is to see the world clearly—and still remain true to one’s heart.
