Born into deep poverty, married at thirteen, mother of six, and a grandmother by the time she was twenty-nine, Loretta Lynn went on to become one of the most prolific and influential songwriters and singers in modern country music. Here we see the determination and talent that led to her trailblazing career and made her the first woman to be named Entertainer of the Year by the Country Music Association and the first woman to receive a gold record in country music.

A Great Read

I really enjoyed reading this book, but what about having her other book "Still Woman Enough: A Memoir" available in e-book format? That book is equally as good and there are so many stories she couldn't include in "Coal Miner's Daughter" that fans of this book would probably love to read about. Please consider making this happen.

Coal Miner's Daughter

I have seen the movie so many times I've lost count but this is the first time I've read the book. I love the details, the things we didin't learn about Loretta in the movie. An excellent book a really fun read and an incredible lady.
