“Another deliciously addictive romance . . . as sizzling as it is emotional and vulnerable.”—Elena Armas, New York Times bestselling author of The Spanish Love Deception
AN ELLE BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR
Teddy Andersen doesn’t have a plan. She’s never needed one before. She’s always been more of a go-with-the-flow type of girl, but for some reason, the flow doesn’t seem to be going her way this time.
Her favorite vintage suede jacket has a hole in it, her sewing machine is broken, and her best friend just got engaged. Suddenly, everything feels like it’s starting to change. Teddy is used to being a leader, but now she feels like she’s getting left behind, wondering if life in the small town she loves is enough for her anymore.
Gus Ryder has a lot on his plate. He doesn’t know what’s harder: taking care of his family’s 8,000 acre ranch, or parenting his spunky six-year-old daughter, who is staying with him for the summer. Gus has always been the dependable one, but when his workload starts to overwhelm him, he has to admit that he can’t manage everything on his own. He needs help.
His little sister’s best friend, the woman he can’t stand, is not who he had in mind. But when no one else can step in, Teddy’s the only option he’s got. Teddy decides to use the summer to try and figure out what she wants out of life. Gus, on the other hand, starts to worry that he’ll never find what he needs.
Tempers flare, tension builds, and for the first time ever, Gus and Teddy start to see each other in a different light. As new feelings start to simmer below the surface, they must decide whether they should act on them. Can they keep things cool? Or will both of them get burned?
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The sweetness, banter, and searing sexual tension in this Western-themed rom-com could turn practically any pair of enemies into lovers—especially these two. Teddy has never had much in common with her best friend’s brother Gus. But she needs a job and Gus needs a nanny for his six-year-old daughter, Riley, so they’re more or less stuck with each other for the summer. Even though they seem like polar opposites (Gus acts stodgy and uptight while Teddy lights up any dive bar she walks into), we could sense that this pair were actually a perfect match. We loved watching them begin to see the best in each other, especially as Gus reveals how much of his seemingly reserved nature is really just his way of protecting his sensitive, vulnerable side. Even if you haven’t read the other books in Lyla Sage’s loosely connected Rebel Blue Ranch series, this sweet and smoky romance will make you an instant fan.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Sage offers a spicy, western take on the enemies-to-lovers trope in her third Rebel Blue Ranch contemporary (after Swift and Saddled). Lovable grump Gus Ryder has always considered Meadowlark, Wyo., town troublemaker Theodora "Teddy" Anderson to be a bad influence on his sister and her best friend, Emmy, which does nothing to quell his reluctant attraction to Teddy. The pair shared a single kiss seven years before the start of the novel, after which Gus insisted they pretend nothing happened, and they've been at each other's throats ever since. Their feud is legendary throughout Meadowlark, which is why no one but Emmy thinks it's a good idea for Teddy, who's recently out of a job, to take a gig as a babysitter for single father Gus's precocious six-year-old. They're both desperate, however, so they reluctantly agree. Teddy's presence around the house reignites old passion, and her love scenes with Gus singe the pages. Supporting characters—including cameos from the couples featured in previous installments—add to the cozy small-town charm. Series fans will be pleased.

Absolutely phenomenal! The spice, the story, the BANTER -chef’s kiss-. I’m obsessed with Geddy. I could read at least two more books just about them. 10/10, no notes. 😍😍😍
