Lost Souls

The drought took their farm. The winter nearly took their lives.

Sarah Capehart only wants to get her children home. After the New Mexico drought ruins their homestead, she and her husband William turn their wagon east toward Virginia. A killing blizzard drives them into a dead Kentucky mining town, where an abandoned rail depot offers the only shelter for miles.

By morning, the wagon is gone. So is their son.

Inside, the walls are too straight and the black doors open onto places that cannot exist: a flooded room, a desert canyon, a mine that breathes. Something beneath the depot is hungry, and it has been waiting a very long time for a child like Edward.

To bring her family out alive, Sarah must trust the strange sight passed down from the women before her, and face the one thing the depot knows best.

What each of them is willing to lose.
