Loud Ghosts

Jackie and Elise are a lesbian couple trying to make a long-distance relationship work. Elise is swept up in Jackie’s cocky nature and when that swagger leads them into new territory, Elise finds out her girlfriend has the vivid imagination to match her mischievous smile. Elise seizes the opportunity to show Jackie she can take risks and push buttons too, to show her this relationship is worth it.

“No,” her head tips back, “I’d want the power to see everyone who had ever had sex in any place I went.”
“What do you mean?”
“Like if I went to the restroom at a restaurant, I’d see that guy that got a b*****b from his girlfriend in the big stall two years ago.”
“You’d see them?”
“Yeah. Like ghosts or holograms or something. Like porn all around me all the time.”
I laugh and blink. I cast about for something witty to say, feeling like she’s always funnier and sillier and bolder than I am.
