Emma Laroux’s a fallen Southern beauty queen whose past is barely whispered about in her small town. But the secrets and lies surrounding her scandal still haunt her, and something about Matthew Pope may hold the answers...if only she could put her finger on it.
Matthew Pope wonders what awful karmic thing he’s done to land him in Podunk, Alabama. But when he sees Emma Laroux again after all this time, he knows he’s still the only one who holds the key to unlocking the truth of her past…
Will a shared moment in time ten years ago threaten the best thing that’s ever happened to them – each other?
Nice, romantic story with a touch of suspense. The characters were like able. But a bit slow-moving.
Couldn’t put it down
I’m so excited about this series. Sands is a fantastic writer and can’t wait for more!!!
Small southern towns.... ya gotta love ‘em
This book was a little hard for me to really get into right at first. Not sure why, but that’s not unusual for me. But fairly quickly, I found the people & the rhythm of the book. And I enjoyed it very much. The author did a great job of filling out the main characters very nicely. The “supporting cast” were relatable & with each one, I had faces in my mind of people I know. All in all, the plot was well done, even the sinister Tad was so “real”. I’ll look forward to reading more from this author.
