AN INSTANT USA TODAY BESTSELLER!
The hardest thing for a paranormal conspiracy theorist and a web series producer to believe in is finding love in this swoony debut romantic comedy.
Hallie Barrett's life has imploded after she's dumped by her hotshot ex, who also happens to be her coworker and the star of the online series she was producing. Without a new show to present for the company competition, she’ll be out of a job. But inspiration can come from the strangest places . . . like the most handsome guy she’s ever seen passionately discussing Bigfoot on a late-night docuseries.
Hayden Hargrove made a name for himself as a cryptid expert on his hit podcast, and is intrigued by the plucky, blue-haired producer who offers him the opportunity to lead his own web show. When the production team sees that Hayden’s solo on-screen presence is bad enough to make a ghost blanch, Hallie jumps on camera too, hitting him (and his cryptids) with a healthy dose of skepticism—and enough chemistry to electrify their show to the top of the competition.
As Hayden and Hallie investigate the unknown, they unearth feelings for each other that shake their beliefs to the core. In their search for Mothman, aliens, and the truth, the most elusive discovery might just be learning to love again.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
BuzzFeed Unsolved meets The X-Files in Marlowe's wonderful rom-com debut. Hallie Barrett, a 25-year-old producer for an L.A.-based multimedia company, finds her confidence shot after a breakup with a toxic coworker. With her job on the line, Hallie needs to win a company-wide competition for best new show. Enter Hayden Hargrove, a handsome cryptozoologist with a huge following, courtesy of his conspiracy theory podcast, The Out There. Hallie reaches out to Hayden and pitches turning his podcast into a web series. But while Hayden is charismatic behind the mic, he feels totally awkward on screen unless someone is interviewing him. When Hallie steps in as his cohost, her skepticism and the pair's undeniable chemistry catapult the show to the top of the competition. Sparks fly between the cohosts the more they work together, but can Hallie overcome the trauma of her past relationship to embrace new love? Hallie and Hayden both feel heartwarmingly real, and readers will cheer as Hallie learns to trust herself again. Marlowe's voice is fresh and witty, with the conspiracy theory aspect adding a playful tone to a classic friends-to-lovers story. Skeptics and believers alike—and especially anyone who wanted Mulder and Scully to kiss—will be delighted with this knockout debut.

A cute quick read
This is the kind of book where you can kind of tell where it’s going with the cover. It’s a very quick and easy read. A little romance not spicy. I will definitely be checking out the other book from this author.
