Publisher Description
Felix the vampire has wanted to give Julian a bite for years—a love bite, that is. When the unknowing Julian sets out to find a mate, Felix is horrified. He decides to give Julian a lusty experience that will change his mind for good.
Felix was a vampire and had been for almost as long as he could remember. That is something that most people don’t know about immortality; there comes a point when the first twenty-five years of mortal life feels like nothing more than a dream. Felix, who was over three hundred years old and had stopped counting, was at that point. Once upon a time, he had been the son of an archduke in England. Once upon a time, he had been a mortal.
But that was a lifetime—or more rather three or four—ago.
What he did know was that he was in love with Julian, the leader of the vampire clan. The clan itself, which had a name just like cities did, was called Jericho. They resided underneath a place in Florida called St. Augustine, which was well-known as one of the most haunted place in the world. But little did the people there know that the reason why they had so many “ghosts” was that they had one of the largest colonies of vampires living underneath their city.
It was more than possible, he might add, to live underground. That was another thing that mortals forgot. Three hundred years was a long time to think, a long time to invent, and they had come a long way technology wise, which was why were able to build an entire clan home underneath the bustling world above. That had been his idea—his beloved Julian’s, that is. This was the very idea that had earned him the title of clan leader.
The Clan Jericho did have a government, just like the human world. Julian was at the top, and they had a parliament-like system that supplied checks-and-balances. Otherwise, their whole world disintegrated into anarchy. Human beings made a mess of things when they went unwatched. Now, imagine what would happen when the humans were far stronger and had a tendency to fight over food. Not a pretty picture.
That was it, his world. The Clan Jericho was all that he had ever known since he had been changed. It was because of Julian that he had ended up as the secretary to the clan leader even though he had no interest in vampire politics. It was all corruption and lies anyway, at least in the parliament. What was the point of keeping track?
