Publisher Description
Conner MacKay is the last of the TV cowboys, but he's withdrawn from society—even before a global pandemic forces the world into quarantine. When he meets activist Dante Burke, though, Conner takes a chance. He can't leave a young Black man on the street in the face of a public health crisis. What kind of cowboy would he be then?
On the surface, Conner and Dante live in opposing realities: midlife versus youth, flush versus flat broke. But their politics, attraction, and close quarters bring them together until the heat between them grows into a burn almost too hot to handle.
Then old dangers breach their safeguards and threaten not their love, but their very lives.
Love in Lockdown is a gay interracial age-gap romance with a happy ever after that goes on for decades.

AMAZING!!
This story takes place at the time of the Covid pandemic and a world that fell apart with a monster for a leader and so much strife and conflict, that still continues in the world today.
Dante Burke is a young, African American, activist, who has a love of history. He choose to leave college because of so much unrest and indifferences in the country. He committed to help in the more underprivileged areas of Chicago and volunteered at a clinic, that is now destroyed with the unrest.
Conner MacKay was a western star of TV, director and collaborated with his partner, Kelvin Jones. Things became ugly when western stories became based on historical facts. Age, tragedy and fear ended his career and he choose to go into hiding.
He is a on the board of the now destroyed clinic. Again, he sees the young man that has been outside the clinic. Knowing how dangerous it is to be exposed with the pandemic he decides to the aide the young man. He can’t find it in his heart to let this young man be homeless at a time when Covid is a killer. He immediately becomes protective of Dante, when he finds he has asthma. He offers Dante a place to stay and makes sure he has enough medicine and comfort to make it through an indecisive time.
As the world situation doesn’t get better, Conner and Dante learn about each other and gradually build a life of living together. They have a sweet lady, Lilly, who comes in and cooks for them several times a week. Dante want’s to find a way to pay Conner back for his generosity. Conner has found himself enamored with Dante and the feeling is somewhat mutual. Dante is beautiful, intelligent and Conner couldn’t be more happy to have him around. As Conner shares with him, his writing about the Buffalo Soldiers, Dante becomes absorbed in the history and starts to research and write about them.
The journey of life for them is not simple when it comes to unrest, pandemic, fires and more. Continuing hate and stupidity in the world, becomes an even bigger fear for Conner, as he keeps a dangerous secret, that could threaten Lilly and Dante.
R. Frank Davis writes a wonderful love story, that takes place during unpredictable times and into the future. The author brings out all the bigotry, homophobia, unnecessary deaths and ignorance of the time. It also brings an unseen danger to Conner and Dante’s lives, along with their own thoughts and doubts about each other.
The author creates a very in-depth look into Dante and Conner. He presents Dante with an old soul and that keeps Conner young. Their gradual feelings, really blossom with their beauty, intelligence, friendship, and so much more.
This story itself is uniquely written and there are several beautifully written passages that bring out the caring, companionship, romance and love that touches the heart.
It’s also a story of two women from different walks of life. Both are mother’s: Dante’s mother Fanny Burke-Fordham and Miz Lilly Love. Dante’s mother is self-centered, abusive in several ways and hasn’t taken the time to respect her son as an individual. Lilly is a beautiful soul, she loves her children regardless and treats Conner and Dante equally. She’s a goldmine of advice and not afraid to confront Fanny.
I highly suggest “Love In Lockdown” for a wonderfully written story about life and love during a time of uncertainty. This is a first time read for me from R. Frank Davis and I was totally impressed and entertained. I hope to read more of his stories and hope there are more to come.
