Publisher Description
“If you’ve ever had your heart broken and then cut your own bangs, read this book. I laughed so hard I made people around me uncomfortable.” —Paula Froelich, New York Times–bestselling author of Mercury in Retrograde
Cyber-stalking, drive-bys, drunken text messaging, creating fake email accounts—you’re gonna have to face it, you’re addicted to love.
Sophie isn’t dealing with her breakup well. Dumped by her boyfriend, Eric, for his sexting, D-cupped, young Floozy McSecretary, Sophie leaves Manhattan and lands back in her hometown, crushed and pajama-clad, blaming herself and begging her ex for a second chance.
But when her best friend, Annie, gets in trouble for driving drunk and is forced to go to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, something clicks in Sophie’s strung-out mind. Women need love rehab, she realizes, to help fix the craziness that comes along with falling for someone.
If you start it, they will come. When she opens up her home to the obsessed and lovelorn, Sophie finds a way to help women out there who have overdosed on the wrong men—and she saves herself in the process.
Love is a drug and the only things that can save us are the steps, rules, and one another. Step one: Admit you have a problem, and keep the hell away from Facebook.

Piazza's fiction debut is set in New Jersey and tells the story of Sophie who is struggling to cope with her latest heart break: dumped by her boyfriend of two-years Eric and traded in for his assistant, a real doozy. Sophie realizes she's hit rock bottom after the night that on a drunken whim she decides to post revealing pictures of Eric's lower half on the internet. When her best friend Annie is arrested for drunk driving and mandated to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, Sophie is inspired to start a help group of her own: Love Addicts Anonymous. With the support of Annie and Joe, a therapist also attending AA, Sophie uses the house she inherited from her grandmother to host meetings, which quickly become popular with Love Addicts in the area. Just when Sophie thinks she's making progress, she realizes she may be falling for Joe. To make things more complicated, she also gets a call from Eric: he's made a mistake and he needs to see her again. But with the help of LAA and their rules of rehab, Sophie may be able to get past the hurdle without getting hurt. While not the most promethean of reads, Piazza does a fantastic job injecting humor into the topic of heartbreak. This breezy read will bring a laugh to anyone who has known the trials of love.
