Take the warm family dynamics of Jill Shalvis, pair it with the heart and humor of Sheila Roberts, and add some love in the mix with Samantha Chase's trademark emotion and sass set at a world-class resort, and you've got the perfect summer read you won't want to put down!
He lives by a schedule… She lives for the moment
Aubrey Burke is on the run from an about-to-be-disastrous mistake when resort owner Hugh Shaughnessy catches her climbing through his office window. Until Aubrey tumbled into his life, Hugh had relied on work and discipline to safeguard a heart damaged by family tragedy. Now his careful world will never be the same—he used to feel safest wrapped up in his work, but lately all he can thinking about is being wrapped up with Aubrey…
Hugh's approach to life and love is the opposite of Aubrey's, but she soon finds herself falling hard for the handsome hotel mogul. What is it about Hugh that makes her heart beat harder whenever he's around? And does it mean she can trust Hugh with the dark reason behind her "live for today" attitude and dare to hope his love might make it worth taking a chance on the future?

Hugh Shaughnessy likes his life to be organized, planned with no surprises. Well, he didn't anticipate Aubrey Burke who completely turns his world upside down.
Aubrey wants to finally live her life. She wants to try new experiences and take risks. It's something she had been denied growing up and working for her father.
Hugh who believes the only way to live is the safe way. As he and Aubrey begin a relationship, her adventures make Hugh uncomfortable but, he tries to control his feelings about it.
Their story seems to be a balancing act between their two personalities. It is the pieces they hold back that will ruin it if they don't communicate and let go of the past.
This story is tender-hearted and touching.
Love Walks In is a captivating and thoughtful contemporary romance novel.
Hugh blamed himself and his impulsive behavior, for the death of his mother. Aubrey blamed herself for having had cancer, and for being a disappointment to her parents.
Hugh hated surprises. Everything in his life was governed by rules and rigid schedules. In his teen years, Hugh was irresponsible and rebellious, and that’s when his mother died. Hugh’s zest for life and spontaneity left him that day.
Aubrey craved her parent’s approval and love. So when her father encouraged her to marry someone whom she didn’t love, she almost went ahead and did it. But, at the eleventh hour, Aubrey bailed. She was elated and relieved that she had the courage to act on her own behalf. If she hadn’t, Aubrey would never have met Hugh.
Because of Hugh and Aubrey’s troubled histories, they would have several obstacles and fears to overcome before they could find true happiness. The author does an extraordinary job writing the first part of the book where Hugh and Aubrey first meet and start working together. I found it so captivating and hysterical that I couldn’t put the book down. The dialog between the two of them was natural and witty, and the story flowed easily. The middle part of the book, though, slowed the pace a bit, because of repetitions. But all in all, Love Walks In is a very enjoyable and entertaining read. I’m looking forward to book three, where I am sure I’ll find the answers to some dangling questions.
I received this ARC from the publisher, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.
