Love Your Curls

In 2015 Dove Hair launched the Love Your Curls campaign and film to encourage women to celebrate their curls and inspire future generations to do the same. The new Dove Hair Love Your Curls book is a poetic tribute to curly hair that was inspired by the thousands of stories, photos and messages of celebration from women with curly hair, which poured in as a result of the campaign. Written by New York Times best-selling author, Taiye Selasi and illustrated by award-winning illustrator, Annick Poirier, the book is intended to represent and inspire curly girls of all ages. 

Dove Hair is acutely aware of the way in which self-confidence and hair intersect, but the relationship women have with their curls can be considered even more complex and emotionally charged. Through global research, Dove Hair uncovered that a mere 10% of women feel proud of their curly hair and only 4 out of 10 little girls with curly hair think their hair is beautiful. However, Dove Hair also found that girls are more likely to feel beautiful and proud of their curls when people around them do  and since discovering this, has been on a mission to inspire a change in these perceptions.
