Publisher Description

Garrett Heskan and his Brevic officers have taken sixteen incarcerated pilots. The move was not only to save the aviators from their own government, it was the first step in a bold plan to keep Heskan's promise to Isabella Lombardi and her captured Hollaran crew. Secretary Brewer and his Internal Security agents believe Jack Truesworth is the ringleader of the Brevic renegades, bent on revenge against Bree and Hollara alike. As agents try to locate the escapees, Heskan plays a dangerous game from inside Brewer's circle, attempting to move Lombardi closer to freedom.

Securing Lombardi's future is only half the responsibility that Commander Heskan has shouldered. Should Vernay, Selvaggio, Truesworth and the rest of his crew survive their run, they will need a safe haven outside the Republic. The Hollaran Commonwealth, Solarian Federation, and a myriad of corporate systems are among the options, but what is the best future for a wanted crew of Brevic military veterans who can never return home? Heskan owes his loyal followers that answer.

Loyalty to the Cause is Book 4 in the This Corner of the Universe series, continuing the story of Garrett Heskan and the original crew of Anelace.

Generally, a pretty good read.

The thing I didn’t like was there are some scientific points that are obvious to almost anybody the author didn’t bother to. I don’t know Google look up. Investigate whatever. When it’s stuck out, the most was using algae to convert CO2 to oxygen. You can’t convert CO2 oxygen you can fix carbon and release some oxygen but if you want oxygen the best way to do it it’s just stick to ends of an electrode into water and you’ll get all the oxygen you need. Now removing carbon dioxide is more complicated and that’s what you might want to use your bat or you might have a better solution in the future, such as really good semipermeable membranes that only permeable to oxygen not sure how you do that but the idea of converting CO2 to oxygen is absurd. Give me a break anybody who has been through high school science knows that.

A separate issue in this book is light sales being used in some form of hyper space situation. How the hell are you gonna collect solar energy when you’re in some kind of alternate dimension or space. The author just kind of acts like well you know now we’re in war Drive but that’s OK. We’ll just act like it’s the same as any other space yeah well guess what happens if you try to exceed the speed of light in “any other space”. Again this stuff anybody over the age of 12 knows. Sure you have to suspend disbelief for science fiction stories, but there’s no reason just to make up conflicts for no apparent reason, dear God just try and fit it in as best you can’t known physics and biochemistry.

Another good one in the series

Each one of the series continues to build on the last and gets you to read more and more
Now on to the next and final one in the series

Read until you drop

Britt is a superb sci-fi space battle storyteller who draws you in until you are unable to not read what is coming next - set a timer.

This book can stand alone; but it is even much better if you have read the prequels - only named prequels because they come before this story.

I know I hope some of the good from the prior stories will resurface in the next tale, but some of the enemy may as well. Who knows?

I did purchase the last book concluding this series, and look forward to reading a fascinating story written by a great author!
