Lynna Rhodes has been a sheltered recluse for all of her eighteen years. Due to numerous kidnapping attempts, the young heiress was rarely allowed to step past the threshold of her palatial home in Paris, France. Until her father sends her to live with his sister on a cotton plantation in Savannah, Georgia. Her past of lonely isolation is left in the ship’s wake when a roguish sea captain sails into her life. Captain Joshua Jordan is older by several years, devilishly handsome, and sexy beyond words. Before the Windjammer docks in America the good captain teaches her things that… well… things.
Lynna’s life is filled with the stuff that dreams are mad of until an equally attractive pirate captain, rumored to be the most vicious swashbuckler to ever plunder and pillage the seven seas (and with an ax to grind against Captain Jordan) kidnaps her in hopes of destroying their happily ever after, and keeping the exquisite beauty for himself.
Enjoyed reading. A surprise at every turn...expect the unexpected
So many twists
I was really excited for this book, but let’s face it, I’m a sucker for a happy ending. This story had a lot of twists. In my opinion, too many. I kept rooting for our main characters and you absolutely loathe Suzanne before your even 1/4 of the way in. Also, it was sometimes difficult to follow the narrator changes. They didn’t happen very fluidly, so I’d have to reread a few times to figure out who was talking and what scene was jumped to. Overall, I think it had a great deal of potential, but if you’re really into happy endings this one leaves you less than satisfied. It’s a cliffhanger and I decided I could not handle reading the second in the series. Too much bad luck for my liking.
Read the whole thing in one night! Very intense, and such a good story line. You really learn to live the characters. Can't wait to read the other books!!
