Powerful Poetry
Wow - I loved this beautiful, powerful book of poems. There were poems that knocked the breath out of me; poems that made me smile; and poems that caused me to pause and think. This book is visually compelling too. I loved reading the poet's words while viewing images of his stunning original paintings. The combination of the two repeatedly caused me to pause and sit with the images - both visual and verbal. The poems won't leave me; their words repeat themselves in my head and the images haunt me. There is deep complexity in these poems; hours after reading them for the first time, I continue to turn them over in my head. This is a book of poetry that I will return to again and again when I want to pause, to think, and to feel.
