Her fingers curled around my bicep, effectively drawing my attention in her direction. I stared into her darkened eyes for a moment. She was concerned? 

Her lips parted a little. She was probably going to say something else but I didn't give her a chance before I crushed my lips to hers. I had two thoughts as I waited for the inevitable punch to the gut:
