The Republic of Macedonia is a landlocked country beautifully situated in southeastern Europe. This new country received its independence in 1991 after it broke away from the former Yugoslavia. Given its location in the Balkan Peninsula and its rich history, the country has many natural and heritage attractions that are slowly gaining popularity with international tourists.
