Guy de Maupassant (5 August 1850 – 6 July 1893), full name - Henri René Albert Guy de Maupassant was a French writer and novelist, author of many famous novels and stories. Guy de Maupassant was born in the castle de Miromesnil near Dieppe. His father - Gustave de Maupassant - who belonged to the aristocratic old Lorraine, settled in Normandy, married Laura le Poitevin. The first story of Maupassant was released in 1880 with tales of Zola, Alexis, Ceara, Ennika and Huysmans, in the collection «Les soirées de Médan». In the same year Maupassant released collection of poetry "Poems» («Des vers»). During his life, he wrote many works that remain popular today.
