First published in the US in 1958, ''Made In Miami” served as an early creative springboard for the author's later, highly celebrated masterpieces like Miami Blues and Sideswipe.

Ralph Tone, an art student supporting himself by working as a Miami hotel bellboy falls head over heels for Maria Duigan, an ambitious beauty with Hollywood aspirations. Fuelled by a destructive mix of alcohol, pills, and severe sleep deprivation, Ralph loses his grip. Both Ralph and Maria become dangerously entangled with Donald McKay, a sleazy local pornographer, leading to a dark spiral of exploitation and eventual revenge.
