Samantha became a mail order bride but found her husband to be abusive. She wants out and turns to the relative of the Sheriff. John is a bit of a ladies man but Samantha needs his help desperately. He does become smitten by her and makes a plan to clear her name. But her husband is more clever than they think and wants to make Samantha's life miserable.
