Publisher Description
In an age characterized by skepticism and ignorance of the Holy Scriptures, this timely volume clearly sets forth the biblical truths and teachings that long have been cherished by Christians. Virtually a classic for this century, Major Bible Themes includes chapters on doctrines that merit particular attention in the contemporary religious scene, such as the Holy Spirit, the nature of the Church, and the second coming of Christ. Designed for group and individual study, for pastors, laymen, and students, Major Bible Themes is an indispensable tool, providing the biblical basis for fifty-two doctrines, complete with topical and Scripture indexes. Questions for discussion and review follow each chapter. Whether your purpose is to explore Bible doctrines as a new Christian, to erase confusion stemming from conflicting views in the contemporary church, or to establish a stronger basis for witnessing to your beliefs, Major Bible Themes is essential for study and reference.

An Accurate, Brief, and Concise Theological Survey
An advantage of this book is that Dr. Lewis S. Chafer wrote these basic elements of this book as lessons in a Bible study correspondence school after WW1. Then it was revised and published in 1926, and was republished by D. T. S. in 1953. Dr. John Walvoord revised and edited the expanded version in 1974, and then was published again in 2010 because of demand.
Why do I bring up these details? Because so very, very few systematized theological books are used and loved after a hundred and four years. This is pure gold that has been refined over a century, each of them reviewing and sharpening its focus. I will gladly argue with anyone, that it is the use of the normal literal interpretation that just stuffs this book with verses that prove that the text of scripture is true.
This is a truly excellent survey of dispensational systemized theology in a very understandable format. This book is for the mature Christian who is willing to diligently study deeper, wider, and longer in the Word of Truth. Or those who want to grow spiritually into that status, or those who want to know Gods Eternal Plan better, or want to grow a closer understanding of our Lord.
This book provides an excellent path for those who really want to understand how God has organized His self-revelation to His created creatures.
