From New York Times bestselling author Jana DeLeon, the first in a new thriller series.
Everyone wondered about Shaye Archer’s past. Including Shaye.
Share Archer’s life effectively began the night police found her in an alley, beaten and abused and with no memory of the previous fifteen years, not even her name. Nine years later, she’s a licensed private investigator, with a single goal—to get answers for her clients when there aren’t supposed to be any.
And maybe someday, answers for herself.
Emma Frederick thought her nightmare was over when she killed her abusive husband, but someone is stalking her and tormenting her with mementos from her past. With no evidence to support her claims, the police dismiss her claims as post-traumatic stress, but Shaye is convinced that someone is deliberately terrorizing Emma…playing a cat and mouse game with only one goal in mind.
To kill Emma.

Well written and captivating for two thirds of the book. Then things kind of fell apart. It was so disappointing because finding a female author to follow is tough. I will not search out another read by this author, but may just stumble upon one and be surprised.
Really enjoyed this book. The way the author really makes you feel the terror of the protagonist, like you were feeling the same terror. Very well written, suspenseful to the end. Had me on edge front he start.
Being from Louisiana, I love stories set here. Especially mystery and thriller types. I have read every book Jana has written. I laugh out loud at her Miss Fortune series. This series is far different and I was more than pleasantly surprised. This book series shows just how talented and multifaceted Jana truly is. Many times I see the end coming. But this book truly threw me for a loop at the end.
